David J. Warfel, age 63, 540 Valley Road, Bloomsburg, died at 5:15 a. m. Sunday, September 22, 2013 at his home after being seriously ill since June.
Born in Chula Vista, California on January 27, 1950, he was the son of Rena L. (Warner) Warfel of Riverside and the late Leon M. Warfel.
David was a 1969 graduate of Penn Manor High School, Millersville and moved to Columbia County following graduation. He owned and operated D. W. Tree Service in the Millville and Danville areas for 18 years, retiring in 1999.
He loved going to flea markets and auctions, as well as the time he spent with his family, especially his children and grandchildren.
Surviving in addition to his mother, is his wife, the former Anne M. Smith, with whom he celebrated his 43rd wedding anniversary on September 5, 2013; a son, James David Warfel, and his wife Yvonne, Berwick; a daughter, Marian, wife of Curtis Schlauch, Odessa, Texas; five grandchildren: Leslie, Britney, Britt, Dalton, and Chelsey; a brother, Larry V. Warfel, and his wife Beverly, Waterloo, New York; and the love of his life, his cat âTiggerâ.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be made in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Danville. There will be no viewing and kindly omit flowers.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Roat-Kriner Funeral Home, 1715 Bloom Road, Danville.
