A. Kenneth Millar, age 83, of Dey Street, Danville, passed away on Tuesday May 7, 2024 at his home.
Born on June 13, 1940 in Mahoning Twp., Montour Co., he was the son of the late Kenneth W. and Jessie B. (Gerst) Millar. A 1958 graduate of Danville High School, he spent his lifetime in Danville.
Kenneth was last employed as a supervisor for Protel Communications, LLC for 10 years, retiring in 2010. Prior to that he worked at the former Roselon Yarns Inc. for many years.
He was a member of Trinity Global Methodist Church in Danville.
Kenneth was also a member of the Friendship Fire Co., Danville VFW, American Legion Post 40, and former Eagles Lodge. He was a life member of the Continental Fire Co.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and bowling. He also bred and raised fish and loved spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Ronald “Butch” Millar; a daughter, Carol Zeiss; two grandchildren, Jay Doebler, III and Kay Ann Doebler; two brothers, Lavoune F. “Vaughn” Millar, and Ronald J. Millar; a sister, Cheryl E. Pritchard; and his mother-in-law, Viola Reibsome.
Surviving is his wife, the former Judith A. Reibsome, with whom he celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary on October 30, 2023; seven children: Kenneth “Joey” Millar, and his fiancé Terri Welliver, of Danville, Valerie Strickland, of Jacksonville, FL, Kimberly, wife of David Stevens, of Rolling Green, KY, Yvonne Doebler, of Danville, Lester Millar, and his partner Donna Snyder, of Danville, Eric Doebler, of Danville, and Nikki Doebler, of Danville; 17 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a sister, Dorie, wife of Stephen Eck, of Cogan Station.
Funeral services will be held on Monday May 13, 2024 at 3 p.m. in Trinity Global Methodist Church, 84 Lombard Ave., Danville, with his pastor, Rev. David Layser, officiating. Interment will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Roat-Kriner Funeral Home, 1133 Bloom Rd., Danville.
