Addie Mae Bogart, age 89, 545 Pfahler Street, Catawissa, died at 8 a. m. Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at the home of her daughter, Donna Adams, in rural Catawissa.
Born in Durham, North Carolina on June 27, 1924, she was a daughter of the late Milton and Elvie Pearl (Pendorgrass) Rigsbee. She resided in Catawissa since 1946.
Addie Mae was employed in the garment industry most of her working years at the former Emenee and Regal Shirt factories and also Mar-Jay Manufacturing Co., all in Catawissa.
She enjoyed cooking for her large family, as well as spending time with them.
Addie Mae was preceded in death by her husband, Walter E. Bogart, on July 15, 1985; by a son, John Yacko; and a granddaughter, Kimberly Jo Bogart.
Surviving are seven children: Barbara J., wife of Dennis Metzger and Donna A., wife of Scott Adams, both of Catawissa; Walter E. Bogart, Jr., and his wife Rose, Espy; Joseph H. Bogart, and his wife Jane, Millville; Regina, wife of William Reigle, Catawissa; Michael Yacko, and his wife Vickie, Texas; Joseph H. Yacko, New York; 22 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; 10- great-great-grandchildren. She was the last of a family of 11 children.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 2 p. m. in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg, with the Rev. Gretchen M. Johanson, pastor of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, Catawissa, officiating. Interment in Hillside Cemetery, Catawissa.
