Alan C. Nagle, age 63, 440 Riverview Ave., Bloomsburg, died at 9:39 p.m. Sunday, August 2, 2015 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, as a result of injuries sustained from a motorcycle accident near Forks earlier in the day.
Born in Berwick on December 17, 1951, he was a son of the late Clair B. and Harriet A. (Klinger) Nagle. He was a 1969 graduate of Central Columbia High School, and resided in Wonderview since 1982.
Alan was last employed in Security at the Bloomsburg Court House. Previously he worked as a corrections officer for 28 years at the State Correctional Institute in Coal Township, retiring in 2007.
He was a member of Lime Ridge United Methodist Church. Other memberships include the National Rifle Association and the Bloomsburg Archery Club. Alan enjoyed outdoor activities, especially hunting and camping.
Surviving is his wife, the former Nancy A. Howe, with whom he celebrated 34 years of marriage on June 12, 2015; three children: Patricia, wife of Jason Krichten, Colorado Springs, Col.; Mark McDonald, wife Patricia, Frederick, Md. and Stephanie McDonald, Austin, Tex.; four grandchildren: Hannah, Marin, Delilah and Axel; a brother, Thomas Nagle, Shickshinny; and two sisters: Polly, wife of Robert Diehl, Berwick and Marie, wife of Charles Frace, Mifflinville.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. in the Lime Ridge United Methodist Church, 6405 Fourth Street, Bloomsburg, with his pastor, Rev. R. Edward Cope officiating. Interment in Lime Ridge United Methodist Cemetery. Viewing at the church on Friday from 10-11 a.m.
The family will provide flowers. Memorials may be sent to Lime Ridge United Methodist Church.
