Alberta A. McHenry

Alberta A. (Bardo) McHenry, age 70, 400 Mendenhall Lane, Benton, died at her home at 8:33 a. m. Saturday,  October 15, 2016, after being seriously ill since July.

Born in Bloomsburg on March 28, 1946, she was a daughter of the late LeRoy and Freda Elizabeth (Brown) Bardo. Her early life was spent in the Shickshinny area and as an adult she resided in the Benton area for many years.

Alberta was employed By Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, as a desk clerk for 26 years, retiring in 2012.

Her hobbies were doing crossword puzzles, playing scrabble and making wine. She especially enjoyed the time she spent with her four grandchildren.

Alberta was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Cynthia Laukhauff; five brothers: Fred L. Bardo; Adrian Bardo; Charles Bardo; Thomas Bardo; Perry Leonard Bardo; and a sister, Kathryn Karns.

Alberta is survived by her husband, William H. McHenry, with whom she celebrated her 34th wedding anniversary on June 25, 2016; a daughter, Julie Wilson, Danville; two sons: William Wilson, and his wife Ronie and Allen Wilson, all of Benton; four grandchildren: John and William Wilson and Nicholas and Cody Wilson; and a brother, Walter L. Bardo, and his wife Nancy, Palmyra, New York.

At Alberta’s request, there will be no funeral services or viewing.
