Alfred P. Herrold, Sr., age 76, of 928 W. Pine Street, Coal Twp., died at 8:15 a.m. Sunday, March 31, 2013 at Mountain View Nursing Home, Coal Twp.
Born in Milton on March 15, 1937, he was a son of the late Jay, Sr. and Doris (Johnson) Herrold. He resided in the Bloomsburg area much of his life, and spent several years previously in Georgia.
He was employed as a truck driver for various companies; most notably Bulldog Trucking, Cumming, Ga.
Alfred was a lifelong member of Eagle Hose Fire Company in Berwick, and held many different positions during his time.
He was a veteran, and served with the U.S. Air Force.
Alfred was preceded in death by his wife, Rebecca Herrold.
Surviving are sons: Alfred P. Herrold, Jr., wife Melody; Richard Herrold, both of Savannah, Ga.; Clinton Herrold, wife Trudy, Bloomsburg; David Herrold, wife Debra, Winfield; Charles Herrold, wife Staci, Shamokin; Thomas Herrold, wife Amanda, Kulpmont; and Christopher Herrold, wife Donna, Coal Twp.; several grandchildren and a few great grandchildren; step-children: Warren Shelley, Clinton Shelley and Betty Hewett, all of Savannah, Ga.; and siblings: Mary Jane Wilson, Berwick; Beverly Joline, Nescopeck; Ralph Herrold, wife Patricia, Bloomsburg and Elaine, wife of Mark Guistwite, Lewisburg.
Memorial Services will be held on Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc. Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market Street, Bloomsburg, with Rev. John D. Kolenda, pastor of Glad Tidings Assembly of God, officiating. Interment in New Rosemont Cemetery, Espy at the convenience of the family. Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday from 6-7 p.m.
