Alice M. "Hannah" Metzger

Alice M. (Hannah) Metzger, age 97, of 448 Frosty Valley Road, Danville, died Saturday morning, May 28, 2022 at the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville where she was a patient.

Born in Colerain Township, Lancaster County on June 10, 1924, she was a daughter of the late William H. and Alice M. (Schofield) Hannah. She resided in the Danville area for about 25 years.

Alice was last employed at Burger King in Danville and earlier for the Pennsylvania Parole Board in Philadelphia as a housekeeper and prior to that at Robert Bruce Sportswear also in Philadelphia.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Danville. She attended the Danville Senior Center. Her hobbies were crocheting and coloring.

Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Aaron W. Metzger, on March 26, 2018 and by a daughter Ann Jones.

Surviving is a daughter, Carolyn S. Swisher, with whom she resided, 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and a son-in-law, Norman Swisher of Bloomsburg.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 2, 2022, at 11 a. m. in the First Baptist Church, 20 Brookside Drive, Danville, with her pastor, Rev. Dawes J. Dunham officiating.  Interment at the convenience of the family in Straub’s Cemetery, Valley Township. Friends may call at the Church on Thursday from 10-11 a. m.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Roat-Kriner Funeral Home, 1133 Bloom Road Danville.
