Allen N. Martz

Allen N. Martz, aged 88, of 15 Dahl Road, Bloomsburg died at the Bloomsburg Care & Rehabilitation Center on Saturday, Nov. 6, 2021, where he was a patient since May.

Born on March 21, 1933, he was a son of the late Frank H. and Laura Jean (Creveling) Martz. He spent his entire life in Hemlock Township And was a 1951 graduate of Bloomsburg High School.

Allen was employed by the former Magee Carpet Co. for over 20 years and was last employed by Dillon Floral Corp. for more than 10 years.

He served with the U. S. Army during the Korean War.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Steven Joseph Martz, on Feb. 16, 2007; by seven brothers: Harold Martz, Donald Martz, Max Martz, Frank Martz, Wayne E. Martz, Dale O. Martz, Melvin Martz and two sisters, Ruth Robbins and Betty Serzinski.

Allen is survived by his wife, the former Dorothy D. Shoemaker, with whom he observed their 65th wedding anniversary on Nov. 17, 2021; three children: Allen Martz, Jr. and his wife Cathy, Mifflinville, Angelia, wife of David Deitrich, Berwick and Joe Martz, at home; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and three siblings: Hazel, wife of Dean Robbins, Bloomsburg, Kenneth C. Martz, and his wife Eldora, Bloomsburg, Eunice Rider, Millville and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Wed. at 11 a. m. in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg with Rev. Gordon E. Smith, pastor of St. John Lutheran Church, Espy officiating. Entombment will follow in the Garden Mausoleum at Elan Memorial Park, Lime Ridge. Viewing will be from 10-11 a. m.
