Alma Rakich, age 94, formerly of Rakich Road, Benton, died at 10 p.m. Friday, September 11, 2015 at Bonham Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Stillwater, after a brief illness.
Born in Luzerne on November 8, 1920, she was a daughter of the late Benny and Clara (Fox) Baglioni. She had resided in Benton since 1946.
Alma was employed by the former Consolidated Cigar Factory in Berwick from 1959-1984, retiring when the factory shut down.
She was a member of the Red Hat Society, Central; Happy Homemakers, Benton and the Historical Society, Central.
Alma was preceded in death by her husband, John Rakich on July 18, 2000 and by three sisters: Kate, Benia and Louise.
Surviving are two sons: John S. Rakich, wife Carolyn and Charles Rakich, wife Beatrice, all of Benton; four grandchildren: Charlene, Carol, Lorie and Charles; seven great-grandchildren: Kay, R.J., Austin, Maddie, Ethan, John David and Evan; and by a great-great-grandson, Connor.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc. Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 30 Two and A Half Street, Benton, with Pastor Scott L. Lyons, of Stillwater Christian Church, officiating. Interment in St. Gabrielâs Cemetery, Benton. Visitation at the funeral home on Saturday from 10-11 a.m.
