Alpha M. âFayeâ Traugh, age 84, 19 Grotto Drive, Danville, died at her home at 12:55 p. m. Thursday, January 2, 2014 after being in failing health for the past year.
Born in Shannon, Floyd County, Georgia on January 16, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Frank M., Sr. and Leona (Johnson) Moore. She resided in Rome, Georgia before moving to Danville in 1972 and was a 1945 graduate of Girls High School, Rome.
Faye was employed in the food service industry while residing in Georgia.
She was a member of the Congregational Holiness Church, Rome, Ga. and had attended the Shiloh United Church of Christ in Danville.. She also was a member of the Danville Elks and the American Ex-Prisoners of War Club.
Faye was preceded in death by her husband, Donald G. Traugh on June 6, 2005; by a daughter, Gwendolyn Russel; by a grandson, James Cropf; four sisters: Gwendolyn Taylor; Mildred Horsely; Opal Cornett; and Willie Chambers.
Surviving are six children: Anita E., wife of James Cropf, Danville; twins, Donald G. Traugh, III and his wife Brenda, Catawissa and Diane, wife of Paul Shires, Bloomsburg; Wayne E. Traugh, and his wife Susan, Franklin, Wis.; Robert Traugh, and his wife Kathy, Bloomsburg; Gail Traugh, Berwick; 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson; and a brother, F. M. Moore, Atlanta, Ga.
The family would like to thank her caregivers for their dedicated and compassionate service to Faye in her final months.
Funeral services will be held on Monday at 2:30 P. M. in the Roat-Kriner Funeral Home, 1715 Bloom Road, Danville, with R. Christian Dunlap, Columbia Montour Hospice Chaplain officiating. Interment in Elan Memorial Park, Lime Ridge.
