Alvin E. "Boots" Klinger

Alvin E. “Boots” Klinger, age 76, of Keefer Lane, Bloomsburg, died peacefully at his home on Thursday morning August 10, 2023 after an illness.

Born on January 4, 1947 at the Bloomsburg Hospital, he was the son of Alvin M. and Gladys E. (Seltzer) Klinger. He was a lifelong resident of the Lime Ridge area and a 1964 area graduate of Central Columbia High School.

Boots was a well-known entrepreneur and self-employed businessman. He operated a flower and Christmas tree stand on Route 11 for many years. He also operated concession stands at fairs and carnivals for many years.

He was a member of Oriental Lodge #460 F&AM, Orangeville, Caldwell Consistory, Bloomsburg, and Irem Temple Shrine, Dallas. He also belonged to Moose Lodge 863 of Muncy, Pennsylvania State Showmen’s Association and the Valley of Bloomsburg Post 273 American Legion.

Surviving is his life partner of 19 years, Linda L. Eisaman, who resided with him; a daughter, Debra, wife of David Rosenfeld, of Pine Bush, NY; a son, Rodney Klinger, and his partner Beth Belusko, of Bloomsburg, a stepdaughter, Kimberly Newcomer, of Lewisburg; a stepdaughter, Julia, wife of Aaron Schwahn, of Danville; ten grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother, T. Eugene Klinger, and his wife F. Arlene, of Bernville; a sister, Joyce, wife of Harold Hartzel, of New Windsor, MD; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held on Friday August 18, 2023 at 11 a.m. in Elan Memorial Park, 5595 Old Berwick Road, Lime Ridge.

In lieu of flowers, friends may contribute to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or the PA State Showmen’s Association, 76 Maple Dr., Lehighton, PA 18235.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Dean W. Kriner Inc. Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg.
