Anita M. Russo

Anita M. Russo, age 87, 450 Mill St., Catawissa, died at 5:40 a.m., Wednesday, April 15, 2015, at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, where she was admitted Tuesday. She was in failing health for two months.

Born on July 11, 1927, in Raven Run, Schuylkill County, she was a daughter of the late Carlo and Marion (Russo) Zelli. She resided in the Catawissa area for the past 40 years and previously lived in Brooklyn, N.Y.

She was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, Slabtown.

Anita enjoyed watching the Game Show Channel, shopping , bingo and especially life.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony C. Russo, on April 3, 2003; a son, Joseph Russo in 2005; two brothers', John Zelli and Ralph Zelli; and a sister, Madeline Berardi.

Anita is survived by a daughter, Camille M. Russo, Catawissa and formerly of Brooklyn, N.Y.; a son, Anthony E. Russo, Hunlock Creek; five grandchildren: Anthony J. Russo; Anita Berardi; Ann Berardi-Boone; Nikki Berardi and Anthony D. Russo; six great grandchildren: Jake Snyder, Gianna Boone, Isabella Boone, Dino Russo, Joseph Russo and Olivia Russo; and a sister, Louise, wife of Fritz Guerre, Florida.

Viewing on Sunday from 4-6 p.m. at the Dean W Kriner Inc Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg. Interment will be made on Monday at 12:30 p.m. in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
