Anna Mae (Kingston) Chernesky, age 90, of 330 W. Third Street, Bloomsburg, died early Sunday, March 12, 2023, at the Bloomsburg Care & Rehabilitation Center.
Born in Fernville on September 5, 1932, she was a daughter of the late Manley Roy and Lucy (Law) Kingston. She resided in Fernville all of her life until moving to the Bloomsburg Towers. She was a 1950 graduate of Bloomsburg High School.
Anna was employed as a pre-school teacher at the former Kiddie Land Nursery School at Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church until it closed. Earlier she was employed at the former F. W. Woolworth Store in Bloomsburg, the cigar factory in Berwick and at the former Keystone Store in Bloomsburg.
She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, assembling jigsaw puzzles and watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune on television.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Paul Chernesky on February 14, 1994.
Anna is survived by four daughters: Trudy Conrad, Selinsgrove, Beverly Chernesky of Berwick, Lisa K. Chernesky and her life partner, Romeo Pedro of Bloomsburg, Angela wife of Kevin Romig of Iola; a grandson, William Romig of Bloomsburg, a granddaughter, Andrea Romig of Coal Township; two great-granddaughters, Sophia Kalmas and London Izzary.
Private services will be held by the immediate family.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market Street, Bloomsburg.
