Anna I. (Baylor) Hoover, age 86, 19 Fenerty Lane, Turbotville, died on Monday, March 12, 2012 at the Columbia Montour Hospice At Maria Hall, Danville, where she was a patient for 70 days. She had been in failing health for one year.
Born in Danville on January 7, 1926, she was a daughter of the late David and Beulah (Remick) Baylor. She spent most of her life in Montour County, currently residing in Anthony Township, and was a 1944 graduate of Danville High School.
Ann was employed as a secretary at Worlds End State Park in Sullivan County working there for 16 years, retiring in 1988.
She enjoyed reading, camping, doing word puzzles and visiting family and friends. Ann and her husband traveled extensively throughout the USA, Canada and Alaska.
Ann was preceded in death by two brothers: William Baylor and Richard Baylor and by a sister, Nancy Schimmel
Surviving is her husband, H. Carl Hoover, with whom she celebrated her 56th wedding anniversary on July 22, 2011; a step-daughter, Carlene L. Hoover, Hazleton; three brothers: Thomas Baylor, Danville; Donald Baylor, and his wife Diane, Allenwood; Rolland Baylor, and his wife Joyce, Danville; and a sister Alice Jane Baylor, Danville. She also has many nieces and nephews.
Ann was a loving wife, sister and aunt.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 3 p. m. in the Roat-Kriner Funeral Home, 1715 Bloom Road, Danville, with the Rev. George A. Zerbe, pastor of the Dutch Hill Emanuel Bible Church officiating. Interment is private at the convenience of the family in Kase Cemetery, Riverside.
