Anthony J. âTonyâ Sedor, age 94, 20 E. Eighth Street, Bloomsburg, died at 1:50 a. m. Monday, July 20, 2015 at Balanced Care At Bloomsburg in Scott Township, where he was admitted Saturday.
Born in Frackville on November 9, 1920, he was a son of the late John and Helen (Nush) Sedor. He resided in Bloomsburg since 1944.
He was a member of St. Columba Catholic Church, Bloomsburg and the Knightâs of Columbus.
Tony served with the US Navy during World War II.
He resided on Chestnut Avenue for many years and will be remembered for his hobby of repairing lawn mowers for his friends and neighbors in his back yard.
Tony owned the former Sunoco Stationâs at 7th & Market Streets and also on Route 11 for many years, as well as a car wash on 9th Street. He was last employed at Berwick Industries for 10 years. For more than 10 years he worked in the grandstand ticket office of the Bloomsburg Fair.
He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Florence H. Coladonato on August 3, 1992.
Surviving are two daughters: Betsy, wife of Charles Hartzell, Bloomsburg and Maria, wife of Thomas Dunaway, Harrisburg; a son, Steven Sedor, and his wife Mary, Allentown; seven grandchildren: Teresa Brassard, Pamela Lawton, Michele Kuhar, Jennifer Grove, Matthew Sedor, Andrew Nace and Steven Nace; 14 great grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. He was the last of his immediate family.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10 a. m. in St. Columba Catholic Church, 342 Iron Street, Bloomsburg, by his pastor, Monsignor Robert E. Lawrence. Interment will be in All Saints Cemetery, Elysburg.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 6-8 p. m. at the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market Street, Bloomsburg. A Christian Wake service will be held at 6 p. m.
