Antoinette E. Turgeon, age 95, 74 Distillery Hill Road, Benton, died at 3:26 p.m. Saturday, August 24, 2013 in Balanced Care at Bloomsburg, where she had been a resident since 2008.
Born in Lewistown, Me. on December 13, 1917, she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Amelia (Vachon) Martel. She resided in Benton since June 2005, and formerly lived in Leeds, Me.
Antoinette was a member of St. Peter and St. Paul Catholic Basilica, Lewiston, Me.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice Turgeon, on September 1, 2002; by an adopted son, Matthew Whelan Turgeon in 1995; and by a great-granddaughter, Marisa Whelan in 1997.
Surviving are two children: Madeleine Chiolan, wife of Theodore Berger, with whom she resided; Ronald Turgeon, wife Maureen, Reno, Nev.; seven grandchildren: Michael Whelan, wife Sheila, Ventura, Ca.; Colleen, wife of George Hartley, Shickshinny; Mark Whelan and Mitchell Whelan, both of Benton; Brenda Turgeon, wife of Joe, Chicago, Ill.; Richard Turgeon, Wis.; and Monique Turgeon, Reno, Nev.; 13 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren.
Interment will be at the convenience of the family in St. Peterâs Catholic Cemetery, Lewiston, Me.
