Ardell L. Jeirles
Ardell L. Jeirles, age 87, 7-A Rhodomoyer Road, Bloomsburg, died at his home at 1:16 p. m. Saturday, October 18, 2014 after being seriously ill for the past month.
Born on August 24, 1927 in Mackeyville, Clinton County, he was a son of the late Charles E., and Martha M. (Fritzgerald) Jeirles. He resided in Mount Pleasant Township for the past 11 years and formerly lived in Sunbury for many years.
Ardell was employed by the Beavertown Casting Co., Beavertown, for 30 years, retiring in 1992.
He served his country by faithfully serving with the US Army during World War II.
Ardell was preceded in death by his wife, the former Margaret P. Hughes and two sons: Jonathan P. Jeirles on May 24, 2003 and Mark A. Jeirles on May 3, 2012.
Surviving are three sons: Daniel L. Jeirles and Timothy G. Jeirles, Sr., both of Bloomsburg, and Michael S. Jeirles, Mifflinburg; a daughter, Rowena H. Hockenberry, Liverpool; 16 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. He was the last of a family of 11 children.
Funeral services will be on Wednesday at 2 p. m. in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market Street, Bloomsburg, with the Rev. Allen F. Acor, United Methodist minister, officiating. Interment in Canby Cemetery, Mount Pleasant Township. Friends may call from 1-2 p. m.
