Arlene R. (Chamberlain) Pope, age 86, formerly of Old Berwick Road, Bloomsburg (Almedia) died at 3:22 a. m. Monday, November 27, 2017 at The Gardens of Millville where she resided since October, 2016.
Born on February 5, 1931 in Bloomsburg, she was the daughter of the late Charles N. and Mary (Thomas) Chamberlain. She resided in the Bloomsburg area all of her life and was a 1949 graduate of Bloomsburg High School.
Arlene was last employed at Bloomsburg University for 18 years as an administrative assistant to the Dean of the College of Professional Studies, retiring in March, 1996. Earlier she was employed in the styling and billing offices of the former Magee Carpet Co. for 26 years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Pope; by a brother, Kenneth Chamberlain and a sister, Charlotte O'Brecht.
She is survived by a step daughter, Katherine "Kay", wife of Bruce Wolfe, Clinton, New Jersey; a step son, Russell "Rusty" Pope, Orangeville; two grandchildren: Alicia Wolfe and Aaron Wolfe; a sister, Nancy Streich, Lititz and a brother, Charles N. Chamberlain, Jr., and his wife Carole, Bloomsburg.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday at 3 p. m. in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market Street, Bloomsburg, with her nephew, Pastor Charles N. Chamberlain, II, pastor of the Bloomsburg Southern Baptist Church officiating. Private interment will be made in Elan Memorial Park, Lime Ridge. Viewing on Sunday from 2-3 p. m.
