Audrey Rehm Magee, formerly of Bloomsburg, died at The Riverwoods Apartments, Lewisburg, on Sunday, December 20, 2015.
Born in Bloomsburg on June 14, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Norbet E. and Grace E. (Hagenbuch) Rehm. She was a 1947 graduate of Bloomsburg High School and also attended Drexel University, Philadelphia, where she was the state rifle team champion and also a member of the Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority.
Audrey was a lifelong member of the Wesley United Methodist Church, Bloomsburg, having been a member for over 65 years. At Wesley she was instrumental in starting the antique show, which was an annual event for many years.
A beautiful woman herself, she encouraged that love of beauty and the arts through her support of many arts organizations. She was especially supportive locally of the Bloomsburg Theatre Ensemble.
Audrey was a diabetic from the time she was a young woman and was interested in helping others receive the help they would need. In that endeavor, she was instrumental in the formation of the Susquehanna Diabetes Association.
Audrey was an animal lover and she was involved in the establishment of the local SPCA animal shelter, which replaced a volunteer shelter operated for many years by the late Carl "Red" Canouse.
She was an active volunteer for many local activities and organizations, including the Geisinger Bloomsburg Hospital Auxiliary and the BK Chapter of PEO. She enjoyed golf and was especially proud of having scored a hole in one.
Audrey and her husband Jim enjoyed traveling and also maintained a home in Scottsdale, Arizona.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James A. Magee, on June 4, 2009.
Surviving are three children: Drue A. Magee, Orangeville; James R. Magee, and his wife Donna, Salem, Ore.; Elizabeth Magee, and her husband Edward Matthews, Gold Canyon, Arizona; four grandchildren: Justin Hummel; Stephen Hummel, and his wife Ashley; Alex Magee; Corey Magee; and one great-grandson, Anson Hummel.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 26, 2015, at 11 a. m. in Wesley United Methodist Church, Market & West Third Streets, Bloomsburg, with her pastor, Rev. Dr. Gary D. Weaver officiating. The family will greet friends from 10-11 a. m. Please use the West Third Street entrance.
The family will provide flowers. Memorials may be sent to a charity of the donor's choice.
