Audrey A. Rainier, age 88, 55 Worman St., Bloomsburg (Espy) died at her home at 12 noon on Monday, July 15, 2013 after being in failing health for the past year.
Born on Feb. 21, 1925 in McVeytown, she was a daughter of the late William H. and Rae (Hite) Osborne. She moved to Iowa at an early age and later moved to the Bloomsburg area. She resided in Espy for about six years and previously lived in Rohrsburg for a number of years.
Audrey was employed by Milco Industries, Inc., Bloomsburg for over 40 years, retiring about 1987.
She was a member of the Rohrsburg Christian Church.
Audrey enjoyed spending time with her family, sewing, knitting, crocheting, baking and wood working. She also enjoyed watching movies and listening to music.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Gene E. Long on Dec. 15, 1980; by two brothers: Silas Osborne and Elmer Osborne; and by two sisters: Gladys Emanuelson and Alta Hiles.
Surviving are her husband, Robert G. Rainier, with whom she celebrated her 32rd wedding anniversary on June 27, 2013; two daughters: Minda J. (Long) Marr, Bloomsburg and Deena K. (Long) Brewster, Ft. Worth, Tex.; three grandchildren: Angela, wife of Tim Jones Bloomsburg; Larry âTigeâ Swartz, and his companaion Angela Sorber, Bloomsburg; Billy Brewster, and his wife Nesve, Mansfield, Tex., five great-grandchildren; a sister, Florilla Lucille Zimmerman, and her companion Ed Garvine, Middleburg; and a brother, George Osborne, Smithville, Mo.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday at 10 a. m. in Elan Memorial Park, 5595 Old Berwick Road, Bloomsburg with the Rev. Allen F. Acor, pastor of the Hendrickson-Mooresburg United Methodist Churches officiating. There will be no viewing.
