Barbara A. Fornwald, age 77, 231 W. Ninth Street, Bloomsburg, died unexpectedly and was found dead at her home on Wednesday and was pronounced dead of natural causes by Columbia County Coroner Dr. Lori Masteller at 3:50 p.m.
Born in Bloomsburg on December 18, 1935, she was a daughter of the late Rollin S., Sr. and Catherine (Smith) Adams. A 1953 graduate of Bloomsburg High School and graduate of the former Bloomsburg State Teachers College, she resided in the area all her life.
Barbara was employed as a biology teacher for Shenandoah High School for 30 years, retiring around 2000.
She enjoyed playing cards, traveling, reading and spending time with her grandchildren.
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Myron D. Fornwald on February 1, 1997 and by two brothers, Jack Adams and Rollin S. Adams, Jr.
Surviving are four sons: Rollin P. Fornwald, wife Joy; Gary A. Fornwald, wife Jill, all of Bloomsburg; Mark W. Fornwald, wife Tina, Cresco and Jeffrey T. Fornwald, wife Jennifer, Bloomsburg; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and two sisters: Betty Adams, New Smyrna Beach, Fla. and Kay Watts, Montoursville.
Funeral services will be held on Monday at 2 p.m. in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc. Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market Street, Bloomsburg, with her daughter-in-law, Rev. Tina R. Fornwald of the Shawnee Tabernacle, Tobyhanna, officiating. Interment in Elan Memorial Park, Lime Ridge. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 6-8 p.m.
