Barbara L. Jacobsen, age 70, of 102 E. Pebble Lane, Orangeville (Stony Brook Circle), died at her home at 7 a.m. Friday, June 5, 2015. She was in failing health since last August.
Born in Des Moines, Iowa on January 7, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Harold E. and Helen J. (Jones) Dixon. Barbara was a 1963 graduate of East High School in Des Moines, attended Graceland University and graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in Landscape Architecture. She spent her early years in Des Moines, and later lived in Nescopeck and Berwick before moving to Stony Brook Circle ten years ago.
Barbara worked for landscape architect firms in Iowa and Kentucky; and locally for Ecology III, Berwick.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Bloomsburg.
Barbara enjoyed painting, sewing and gardening.
Surviving is a daughter, Deborah, wife of Jeff Stackpole, Virginia Beach, Va.; son, Jeffrey V. Jacobsen, wife Melisiann; granddaughter, Patience M. Jacobsen; grandson, Devin L. Jacobsen, all of Bloomsburg; two brothers: Butch Dixon, wife Sue, Fla.; Mike Dixon, Minn. and three step-brothers: Rick Dixon, Jim Dixon and Tom Dixon, all of Las Vegas, Nev.
At the request of the deceased, there will be no services.
