Barbara W. Lyon, age 59, 123 Church Street, Bloomsburg (Almedia), was called from her earthly home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, August 18, 2015.
Born in Altoona on July 5, 1956, she was a daughter of the late Harold E. and Dorothy B. (Mathias) Wills. She resided in Bloomsburg since August 1997.
Barbara was a 1974 graduate of Bellwood-Antis High School, Bellwood and a 1978 graduate of the Washington Bible College, Lanham, Maryland.
She was employed as a worker in the day care center of the Berwick School District and last at the Columbia County Christian Learning Center, Buckhorn, retiring in 2013 to care for her mother.
Barbara was a member of the Shiloh Bible Church, Almedia, where she was involved with the choir, nursery and childrenâs ministry.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Harold E. Wills, Jr.
Barbara is survived by her husband, Rev. Dr. Douglas H. Lyon, pastor of Shiloh Bible Church, with whom she celebrated her 35th wedding anniversary on July 5, 2015; a son, Joel J. Lyon, Green Bay, Wis., a daughter, Anna E. Lyon, at home; ten siblings: John Wills, and his wife Vicki, Mobile, Ala.; Douglas Wills, and his wife Tammy, Altoona; Kenneth Wills, and his wife Debbie, Elmwood, Ill.; Kathleen, wife of Charles Dyer, Sun City West, Ariz.; Patricia, wife of Budd Siverd, North Cambria; Brenda McIntire, Catonsville, Md.; Barry Wills, and his wife Susan, Sunbury; Bruce Wills, and his wife Melba, Bowie, Md.; Judith, wife of Gene Bialecki, Danville; Peggy Lawson, Tampa, Fla., a sister in law, Barbara Wills, Cranberry Township; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. in the Shiloh Bible Church, 123 Church Street, Bloomsburg (Almedia), with the Rev. Dr. Harry E. Fletcher officiating. Interment in New Rosemont Cemetery, Espy. The family will receive friends at the Church from 9-11 a.m.
