Barbara L. Radel

Barbara L. Radel, age 63, Schuylkill Haven and formerly of Bloomsburg, died at 11:49 p. m. Sunday, February 28, 2016 at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, where she was patient  since February 9th.  Her death followed a lengthy illness.

Born in Newark, New Jersey on July 1, 1952, she was a daughter of the late Howard and Irene Rice.  She was a 1970 graduate of Arts High School, Newark.

Barbara resided in Schuylkill Haven for three years and previously lived in Bloomsburg.

Barbara and her husband Bob were a truck driver team, last working for Calex Express, Pittston. She retired in May, 2012.

Her hobbies were painting, sewing, scrapbooking and doing various crafts. She loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Surviving are her husband, Frederick R. "Bob" Radel, Schuylkill Haven;  a son, Michael L. Radel, Bloomsburg;  three daughters: Pamela S. Radel, Dianne M. Laidacker,  and Kathleen A. S. Shingler, all of Bloomsburg; and nine grandchildren: Michael R. Radel, Regan R. Radel, Samantha L. Lunger, Hunter E. Kingston, Robert J. Halye, Sarah R. Halye, Emily S. Hayle, Allie M. Shingler and Cameron P. Shingler. She was the last of her immediate family.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday at 2 p. m. in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg, with the Rev. Stephen D. Engelhardt officiating. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p. m.
