Barbara J. (Welliver) Smith, age 67, of Moncks Corner, South Carolina died unexpectedly on Tuesday evening, July 16, 2024, at the Trident Medical Center in Charleston, South Carolina.

Born in Bloomsburg on August 25, 1956, she was a daughter of the late Buddy N. and Charlet E. (Brown) Welliver. She resided in South Carolina for the past 39 years.

Barbara was a homemaker enjoying sewing, crocheting and photography. She had thousands of photos that she took over the years. Her family time was very important to her, especially the time she spent with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her husband was the most important person in her life. She enjoyed vacationing in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. Her dogs were also an important part of her life.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister Deborah K. Young and a step brother Mark Allen.

She is survived by her husband, Raymond C. Smith, with whom she would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on July 20, 2024; a son Dennis E. Smith and his wife Lisa and a daughter Karen, wife of Jason Herpolsheimer, all of Moncks Corner; nine grandchildren: Brittany Halvorsen; Matthew Smith and his wife Maria; Justin Herpolsheimer and his wife Kylee; Joey Halvorsen and his wife Kennedy; Alissa Herpolsheimer; Nathan Smith; Tori Barnette; Katie Halvorsen; Paige Smith; three great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are four siblings: David E. Welliver of Berwick; Sherry J. Eisenhauer of Bloomsburg; Ricky J. Welliver and his wife Rhonda of Bloomsburg; Roxanne L. wife of Buddie M. Rainier of Danville and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at 2 p. m. in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market Street, Bloomsburg with Rev. Gordon E. Smith, pastor of St. John Lutheran Church, Espy officiating. Interment will follow in Rose Lawn Cemetery, Berwick. Friends may call from noon until the time of the services.
