Bebe Ann (Stokley) Peters

Bebe Ann (Stokley) Peters, age 69, of 538-A La Salle St., Berwick, passed away on Monday, January 24, 2022 at the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.

Born on December 24, 1952 in Bloomsburg, she was the daughter of the late Blaine B. and Shirley D. (Roberts) Stokley. She was a 1970 graduate of Danville High School and attended Luzerne County Community College, where she became a licensed LPN. Bebe resided in Berwick for the past 34 years and previously resided in Bloomsburg.

Bebe began her working career at the former Danville Manufacturing Company, and later was employed as a secretary for Attorney Frank Baker in Bloomsburg, and Danville State Hospital.

Bebe was a member of the VFW Auxiliary of Ft. McClure Post 804. She loved to knit, create sudoku puzzles, write poetry, use the computer, and be on Facebook. A fan of the holiday, she did her Christmas shopping year-round.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Gena M. Matthews, on January 13, 2022.
Surviving is her son, William L. Matthews, and his fiancé Rose, of Berwick, three grandchildren: Andrew Knorr, and his partner, Rachel, of Bloomsburg, Wilburn “Willie” Webber, of Jerseytown, and Alyssa Matthews, of Bloomsburg; great-grandchildren: Kellena, Lestatte, Lucian, and Carter; a brother, Terry Lee Stokley, of Bloomsburg; two sisters: Vicki Lee Myers-Featherman, of Berwick, and Candace Stokley, and her wife Lynn Goldberg, of Niskayuna, NY, a half-brother, Blaine Stokley, and his wife Rhonda; and several nephews and nieces.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 27, 2022 at 2 p.m. in the Dean W. Kriner Inc. Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg, with Rev. Gordon E. Smith, of St. John Lutheran Church, Espy, officiating. Viewing from 1-2 p.m.
