Betty Jane (Ulrich) Diehl, age 65, 341 Adams Drive, Danville (Pepper Hills), died at her home at 9:30 a. m. Friday, August 11, 2017 after being in failing health since November, 2014.
Born in Bloomsburg on February 22, 1952, she was a daughter of the late David H. and Martha (Houseknecht) Ulrich. She resided at Pepper Hills since 1979.
Betty was employed as a seamstress in the garment factories of the area for many years.
Her hobbies included crocheting, gardening and drawing. She was an avid Elvis fan and loved elephants. Her favorite pastime was road tripping with her husband on his Harley on numerous adventures. She especially enjoyed the time she spent with her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth Virant.
Betty is survived by her husband, Larry A. Diehl, with whom she observed her 44th wedding anniversary on February 17, 2017; three children: Wendy, wife of Ray Johnson, Danville; Larry A. Diehl, Jr., and his wife Heather, Jerseytown; Christie, wife of Mike Barnes, Bloomsburg; ten grandchildren: Terri Starr, Josh Johnson, Corey Diehl, Sarah Diehl, Jake Diehl, Bryant Brown, Cameron Brown, Marissa Barnes, Ashley Barnes, and Brandon Barnes; three great-grandchildren: Camden, Mackenzie and Mason; a sister, Joann, wife of Dale Weaver, Danville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 2 p. m. in the Roat-Kriner Funeral Home, 1715 Bloom Road, Danville, with the Rev. Robert Strozyk, pastor of the Mill Green United Methodist Church, Millville, officiating. Interment in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Danville. The family will receive friends from 1-2 P. M.
