Betty B. (Ikeler) Lizardi, age 91, 150 W. Twelveth St., Bloomsburg, died at 11 a. m. Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2014 at the Geisinger Bloomsburg Health Care Center, Bloomsburg, where she had been a patient since Jan. 14th. Members of the family were present at her passing.
Born in Mount Pleasant Township, Columbia County, on July 29, 1922, she was a daughter of the late Alfred E. and Fannie (Crawford) Ikeler. She was a 1940 graduate of the former Scott Township High School, Espy and resided in Bloomsburg since 1941.
Betty was employed by the former Magee Carpet Co. for 32 years, retiring in December, 1972.
She was a longtime member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, where she was a member of the Women of Evangelical Lutheran Church (WELCA) and the Susquehanna University Auxiliary.
Betty was an avid walker and enjoyed watching basketball games, and frequently attended little league baseball games.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, William S. Lizardi, on June 15, 2007; also by three brothers: Donald A. Ikeler, Bobby Ikeler, Phillip Ikeler; and by three sisters: Helen Dean Ikeler, Bonnie R. Ikeler and F. Zoe Faux.
Surviving are two sons: Lloyd R. "Bud" Musselman, Jr. and his wife Tina, Seattle, Wash. and Douglas E. Lizardi, and his wife Debbie, Bloomsburg; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Donna J., wife of William C. Laubach, Jr., Bloomsburg; and a brother, Larry C. Ikeler, wife Lucy, Parkton, Maryland.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, May 3, 2014 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 123 N. Market St., Bloomsburg, with her pastor, Rev. Dr. Joel L. Zeiders officiating. Interment in the Ikeler Cemetery, Mount Pleasant Township. There will be no viewing. The family will provide flowers. Memorials may be sent to the endowment fund of St. Matthew Lutheran Church.
