Betty L. McDaniel, age 84, 110 Shawnee Road, Bloomsburg, died at 1:44 a. m. Sunday, November 30, 2014, at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, where she was admitted Friday evening.
Born in New Market, Alabama on July 8, 1930, she was the daughter of the late R. E. and Ruby (Fowlkes) Sisco. She resided in Bloomsburg for over 60 years.
Betty was employed by Weis Markets, Inc., at their Bloomsburg store for over 50 years, retiring about 1995. At time of her retirement she was a cashier in the store office.
Her family knew her as Bobbie and her co-workers called her Rebel.
A longtime member of the Wesley United Methodist Church, she will be remembered by the church members for her card ministry. She sent cards to the sick and shut ins, as well as the bereaved families and also sent many birthday cards.
Betty was an animal lover, especially dogs and birds. She maintained bird feeders at her home.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, William A. McDaniel, on July 16, 2006.
The last of her immediate family, she is survived by a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 2 p. m. in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market Street, Bloomsburg, with Cynthia J. Willis , Limited Activity Member Coordinator officiating. Interment in Scott Cemetery, Huntington Township, Luzerne County.
