BETTY J. RHOADS

Betty J. Rhoads, age 82, 108 Hidden Hollow Drive, Bloomsburg, died at 4:10 p. m. Monday, February 1, 2010 at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville where she was a patient for four days. She was in failing health for two months.

Born in Berwick on August 26, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Merrill L. and Gertrude R. (Fetterman) Boyer. She resided in Main Township since 1952.

She was a member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Mainville.

Betty assisted in the operation of the family farm for many years and enjoyed crocheting and knitting.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Norris I. Rhoads on January 1, 2010; by a granddaughter, Tamra B. Cherrington on October 7, 2001 and by a sister, Margaret M. Bower on JAnuary 10, 1977.

Surviving are a son, Larry A. Rhoades, and his wife Deborah, with whom she resided; two daughters: Debbie J., wife of Barry J. Cherrington, Bloomsburg and Karen A., wife of Clair Baney, Selinsgrove; 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Friday at 12 noon in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market Street, Bloomsburg, with her pastor, Rev. Stanley L. Bower officiating. Interment in Emanuel Reformed Cemetery, Main Township.
