Betty E. Yeager
Betty E. Yeager, age 81, 397 Bear Gap Road, Elysburg, died at 8:23 p. m. Friday, February 8, 2013 at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, where she was a patient for three days. She had been in failing health for six months.
Born in Mahoning Township, Montour County on Sept. 23, 1931, she was a daughter of the late Harvey T., and Harriet (Oberdorf) Bennett. She resided in Cleveland Township, Columbia County for the past 52 years.
Betty was employed by the former Cabinet Industries, Danville for many years and was last employed by the Pine Barn Inn, Danville.
She enjoyed working outside, watching wildlife, taking photographs and attending yard sales. Her greatest pleasure came form the time she spent with her grandchildren and her cat, "Whiskers".
She was preceded in death by a grandson, Justin Seidel; five sisters: Martha Hendricks, Mary Hort, Irene Megargel, Patricia Scholley and June Boyer; and by three brothers: Mick Bennett, Harvey T. Bennett, Jr., and Floyd Bennett;
She is survived by her husband, Roy I. Yeager, with whom she celebrated her 52nd wedding anniversary on June 4, 2012; three sons: Barry N. Seidel, and his wife Cheryl, Buckhorn; Jeffrey S. Seidel, and his companion Lois Williams, Millville; B. Scott Yeager, and his wife Cindy; Catawissa; six grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 6 p. m. in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg, with the Rev. David B. Pierce, pastor of First Presbyterian Church, Bloomsburg, officiating. The family will receive friends from 4-6 p. m.
The family will provide flowers. Friends may remember Betty with a donation to a charity of the donor's choice.
