Beverly J. Hess

Beverly J. (Risch) Hess, age 81, of 131 Main Street, Catawissa and formerly of Berwick died Sunday, September 8, 2024, at the Grandview Nursing & Rehabilitation in Danville.

 Born in Bloomsburg on July 14, 1943, she was a daughter of the late Carl H. and Louise M. (Eisenhauer) Risch. She resided in Berwick much of her lifetime.

Beverly was last employed by W. Bodnar Construction in Berwick and prior to that by Bechtel Corp. at the Bell Bend power plant.

She enjoyed crocheting, bowling, adult coloring, jigsaw puzzles and seeking word puzzles.

Beverly was preceded in death by her husband Fred E. Smith in October,1995; two daughters, Faye (Smith) Robbins and Stacey R. Smith; a granddaughter, Theresa Ridall; a son in law, Louis Del Vecchio; four brothers: Carl F. Risch, Robert M. Risch, Wayne H. Risch and Lynnwood J. Risch.

Surviving is a daughter, Brenda Del Vecchio of Berwick, s son Mitchell Smith and his girlfriend, Georgetta Wynings of Gilberton; three grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Shirley (Risch) Cox of Fayetteville, North Carolina; an aunt, Dorothy Van Pelt of Berwick; as well as nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, September 13, 2024 in Pine Grove Cemetery, Walnut Street, Berwick.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market Street, Bloomsburg.
