Bruce J. Young, age 76, 309 Derrs Road, Benton, died at 1:57 a. m. Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, where he was a patient for two weeks. He had been in failing health since early September, 2015.

Born on October 1, 1939, in Mount Pleasant Township, he was a son of the late Bruce O. and Lulu G. (Musselman) Young. He resided in the Derrs section of Jackson Township most of his lifetime.

Bruce was employed as a forklift operator by Millville Lumber Products, Co., Millville for 33 years. He also operated a garbage collection business from 1988 to 1994.

He was a member of the Jackson Baptist Church, Derrs.

Bruce was preceded in death by his wife, the former Sandra M. Zimmerman, on September 1, 2007 and by two brothers: Charles E. Young and Donald L. Young.

Surviving are  six children: Ricky Lee Zimmerman, and his wife Dianne M., Millville; Patty Ann Young-Hovranko, Stillwater; Donna Mae Young, and her fiance’ Jamie H. Davis, Turbotville; Steven Junior Young, and his wife Rhonda L., Bloomsburg; Dennis L. Young, at home; and Kathy Marie, wife of Michael L. John, Orangeville; seven grandchildren; three great-granddaughters; and six siblings: Mary Lou DeFrain, Bloomsburg; Edna, wife of John Gearhart, Berwick; Carlton L. Young, and his wife Connie, Benton; Evelyn Fae, wife of Robert E. Schultz; Dale L. Young, and his wife Betty; and Larry E. Young, and his wife Cindy, all of Millville.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11 a. m. in the Jackson Baptist Church, Derrs, with his pastor, Rev. Walter E. Minto, Jr., officiating. Interment in the Jackson Cemetery. Friends may call at the Church from 10-11 a. m.
