BUDDY  N.  WELLIVER

Buddy N. Welliver, age 80, 1214 St. John's Avenue, Moncks Corner, South Carolina and formerly of Frosty Valley Road, Bloomsburg, died at his home at 6:20 a. m. Saturday, October 22, 2011 after an illness of one year.

Born in Millville on May 11, 1931, he was a son of the late Henry and Mary (Shultz) Welliver. He resided on Frosty Valley Road, Bloomsburg for over 30 years before moving to South Carolina in Nov., 2000.

Buddy was last employed by Aero Space Defense Security, Ladson, South Carolina. In Bloomsburg, he was employed by the former Hills Dept. Store at the Columbia Mall; Berwick Hospital, Argo of PA and U.S. Steel, all of Berwick.

He served with the US Army for four years during the Korean War and  was a member of the VFW Post in Moncks Corner.

Buddy was preceded in death by his wife, the former Charlet E. Brown, on Sept. 8, 2000; by a great-grandson, Gary William Rainier on July 10, 2010; a brother, Jack Welliver in 2010 and a sister, Jean Andy.

Surviving are six children: David E. Welliver, Bloomsburg; Sherry J., wife of Jeffrey A. Eisenhauer, Syracuse, NY; Barbara J., wife of Raymond C. Smith, with whom he resided; Ricky L. Welliver, and his wife Rhonda, Syracuse, NY; Deborah K. Young, Bloomsburg; Roxanne L., wife of Buddie M. Rainier, Sr., Millville; a step son, Mark Allen, Bloomsburg; 18 grandchildren; and 34 great-grandchildren. He was the last of his immediate family and is additionally survived by a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11 a. m. in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg, with the Rev. Allen F. Acor, pastor of the Mooresburg-Hendrickson United Methodist Churches officiating. Interment in Rose Lawn Cememtery, Berwick. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday after 9:30 a. m.
