C. William "Bill" Nungesser, age 65, 140 Trump Road, Danville, died at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, on Sunday at 5:48 p. m. He was a patient for two weeks.
Born in Mahoning Township, Montour County on February 26, 1952, he was the son of Catherine Mae (Mordan) Nungesser, who resided with him and the late Harry L. Nungesser.
Bill was a 1970 graduate of the Columbia Montour Vocational Technical High School and received his B. A. degree from Bloomsburg University in 2005. He was employed by Geisinger Medical Center for 40 years, retiring in 2010. At the time of his retirement, he was the assistant manager of the Print & Mail Facility.
He was a member of the Kline's Grove United Methodist Church.
Bill served with the U. S. Navy and was a member of the American Legion Post 40, Danville. He also was an artist.
Surviving are his spouse, Andrew M. Towey and seven siblings: Deborah Ann, wife of Charles Cole, Bloomsburg; Shirley, wife of Edward, Bernes, Bloomsburg; John L. Nungesser, and his wife Donna, Sunbury; Joanne M. Schlagel, Danville; Harry Nungesser, and his wife Danielle, Sunbury; Ruth E. Moorhead, Milton; Beth S., wife of Walter Dees, Sunbury; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 8, 2017, at 10 a. m. in the Kline's Grove United Methodist Church, 1058 Church Road, Sunbury, with his pastor, Brian M. Moyer , officiating. Interment in the Kline's Grove Cemetery with military honors by the American Legion Post 40 Honor Guard.
The family will receive friends at the Church from 9-10 a. m.
