Carl D. Derr

Carl D. Derr, age 52, of W. First St., Bloomsburg, died peacefully at his home on Thursday December 19, 2024.

Born on March 30,1972 in Muncy, he was the son of Rita (Betz) Derr and the late David K. Derr. He was a 1992 graduate of Millville High School.

Carl was employed at Olive Garden Restaurant in Bloomsburg for the past seven years as a baker.

He was an avid Philadelphia Phillies and Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He enjoyed attending all the Little League World Series games in Williamsport and he also attended the Bloomsburg Fair each day that it was open. At Millville High School, he was the manager of the baseball and soccer teams. Carl loved all of his family.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by grandparents: Susie Betz, Wallace and Eleanor Derr, and a step-grandmother, Joan Derr.

Surviving in addition to his mother is his grandfather, John Betz, of Williamsport; two sisters, Kristen, wife of Thomas Knight, of Muncy and Karey, wife of Michael Killian, of Millville; a brother, Roger Derr, and his wife Kimberly, of Jerseytown; his girlfriend, April Gregory, of Berwick; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday December 26, 2024 at 11 a.m. in the Iola Christian Gospel Fellowship Church, 2938 State Route 42, Millville, with Pastor Mark Shellenberger, of the Stillwater Assembly of God Church, officiating. Interment will follow in the Jerseytown Cemetery. Viewing will be at the church after 10 a.m.
