Carol Ann Holdren

Carol Ann (Gould) Holdren, age 54, of 370 Park St., Benton, died at 12:11 p.m. Sunday, June 7, 2009, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, where she was a patient for one week.

Born on Nov. 25, 1954, in Muncy Creek Township, Lycoming County, she was a daughter of Laura I. (Comstock) Gould, Benton, and the late Donald M. Gould.

Carol resided in Margate, N.J., for several years and was a 1972 graduate of Oak Crest High School, Somer's Point, N.J. Following high school, she resided in Benton before moving to California, where she resided for 10 years. She returned to the Benton area in 1989.

In the early 1990s, she was employed as the Benton Borough secretary.

Carol was a former member of the Benton Women's Club; the Benton Fire Co. and First Responders; the Millville Fire Co. and the Benton Lions Club.

In addition to her father, who died on April 11, 1995, she was also preceded in death by a brother, Frederick A. Gould, on April 11, 1995.

Surviving in addition to her mother is her husband, Frank W. Holdren, whom she married on August 26, 2000; two daughters: Laura-Jean, wife of Christopher R. Hess, Sweet Valley; and Christy Renee Richart, Bloomsburg; a grandson, Christopher Donald Hess, Sweet Valley; a brother, Frank A. Gould, Benton; and a sister, Michele A. Gould, Unityville.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday at 7 p.m. in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc. Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Benton. There will be no viewing. The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m.
