Carol A. Jones, age 71, 2603 Bloom Road, Danville, died at 11:03 p. m. Friday, November 12, 2010 at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, where she was a patient since Tuesday. She was in failing health for several years.
Born in Mahoning Township, Montour County, she was daughter of the late Mearl and Helen (Ford) Krum. She resided in the Danville area her entire lifetime and was a 1957 graduate of Danville High School.
Carol was employed by the Grandview Health Homes, Danville, for 37 years before she retired. She held a number of positions at Grandview and was the purchasing agent when she retired.
She was a member of St. James United Church of Christ, Ridgeville.
Carol enjoyed cooking and being involved with her grandchildren and all their sports activities. She was also a Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
A brother, Donald Krum, preceded her in death.
Surviving is her husband, Marvin Raymond Jones, with whom she would have celebrated her 52nd wedding anniversary on November 29, 2010; two daughters: Gail E., wife of Allen F. Acor, II, Bloomsburg; Cynthia M., wife of Charles R. Gerst, Jr., Danville (Riverside); two sons: Marvin Raymond Jones, Jr., Danville; Kevin M. Jones, and his wife Krista, Mesa, Ariz.; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers: Melvin âMikeâ Krum, Florida; Harold Krum, and his wife Judy, Bloomsburg; and a sister, Shirley, wife of Robert Pick, Danville.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11 a. m. in the Roat-Kriner Funeral Home, 1715 Bloom Road, Danville, with her pastor, Rev. Richard J. Shearer officiating. Interment in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Danville. Friends may call on Wednesday from 9:30 a. m. to 11 a. m.
