CAROL J. TROTMAN

Carol J. Trotman, age 75, 309 S. Fourth Street, Catawissa, died at her home on Saturday, March 6, 2010 and was pronounced dead at 10 a. m. She had been in failing health for three years.

Born in Danville on December 20, 1934, she was a daughter of the late Parvin J. and Anna May (Roberts) Sweitzer.

Carol was a 1952 graduate of Danville High School and moved to Catawissa following her marriage.

She was last employed as a cosmetician at the CVS Store in Bloomsburg and earlier was employed in the bakery at the former Krums Orchard, Catawissa; the former Letterman's Bakery, Catawissa and at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Carol was an active member of the First United Methodist Church, Catawissa,
where she was a member of the United Methodist Women and served as a trustee. She also was a member of the Miquon Chapter, Daughters of the American Colonists, Bloomsburg and the Roaring Creek Grange.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward J. "Bud" Trotman on May 24, 1985; by a brother Leroy Sweitzer; and by two sisters: Miriam Ash and Dorothy Kirkendall.

Surviving are a daughter, Tammy, wife of Robert K. Gore and two granddaughters: Kaili Gore and Jiasu Gore, all of Fleetwood; and an aunt, Phyllis Long, Catawissa. She was the last of her immediate family.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 10:30 a. m. in the First United Methodist Church, 228 South Street, Catawissa, with her pastor, Calvin J. Rich officiating. Interment in Elan Memorial Park, Lime, Ridge.

Friends may call at the Church on Tuesday from 6-8 p. m.

The family will provide flowers. Memorials may be sent to the First United Methodist Church, 228 South Street, Catawissa, PA 17820.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market Street, Bloomsburg.
