CAROLYN L. HOWER

Carolyn L. Hower, age 82, 1422 Old Berwick Road, Bloomsburg, died at 3:30 a. m. Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at the Millville Health Care Center, where she was a patient for one month. Her death followed a brief illness.

Born on January 29, 1928 at Pine Summit, she was a daughter of the late Willie C. and Aleda K. (Lyons) Lyons. She spent her entire lifetime in the Millville and Bloomsburg areas.

Carolyn was employed as a sewing machine operator at various factories and was last employed by the former Keck's Drapery for 30 years, retiring in 1999.

She was a member of the Millville Christian Church.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Karl D. Hower, on September 7, 1999 and by five brothers and one sister.

Surviving are a son, Glen Spencer Hower, and his wife Claudia, Coleville, Wash.; Lona H., wife of Louis K. Heddings, Catawissa; Lois I "Jake" Squires, Mesa, Ariz.; Beth M., wife of Barry L. Winders, Millville; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, E. Josephine Murray, Pottsgrove.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, JULY 2, 2010, at 2 p. m. in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market Street, Bloomsburg, with the Rev. Allen F. Acor, pastor of the Mooresburg-Hendrickson United Methodist Churches officiating. Interment in Elan Memorial Park, Lime Ridge.
