Charles R. Harding, age 83, of 1261 Chestnut Street, Bloomsburg, died at his home at 9:03 a. m. Thursday, Feb. 14, 2019 after having been in failing health for the past year.
Born in Nanticoke on Sept. 4, 1935, he was a son of the late John and Naomi (Sorber) Harding. He was a 1953 graduate of Nanticoke High School. He resided in Millville from 1977 to 1988 when he moved to Bloomsburg.
Charles was a member of Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church, Bloomsburg. He also belonged to the Tublick Run Camp at Central. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He was a member of the Pennsylvania National Guard for several years earlier in his life.
Surviving is his wife, the former, Rachel I. Fortis, with whom he celebrated 45 years of marriage on June 2, 2018; a son Christopher Harding, wife Camelia, Jacksonville, Florida; a daughter, Jacqueline Harding, Sparks, Maryland; eight grandchildren, including Michaela Harding; and six great-grandchildren. He was the last of his immediate family.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
