Charles R. Harvey, Jr., 88, passed peacefully into the presence of his Lord and Savior on Sunday, July 21, 2024. He was a resident of Emmanuel Nursing Home, Danville, since 2023.

Charles was born on January 19, 1936, in Huntington Mills, a son of the late Charles R., Sr. and Iloe E. (Talcott) Harvey.

He graduated from Shickshinny High School and attended Susquehanna University from 1954-1956.

In 1957 he married Donna M. (Laubach) Harvey, of Bloomsburg, and they remained married until 1973.

Over the years he was employed as a Lab Tech for Merck & Co., Danville, FMC Corp, Princeton, New Jersey, Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, and Kawneer, Bloomsburg. He later was employed with Bloom Penn Contractors, Bloomsburg, and Pursel Construction, Lewisburg, also SUNCOM Ind., Northumberland, as a wood shop supervisor, and then in maintenance for 10 years at North Central Secure Treatment Unit, Danville. At the age of 84, he retired from Walmart, Lewisburg.

Throughout his lifetime, he was a hard-working man, but he also enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and he absolutely loved talking with people!

Charles attended Calvary Baptist Church, Mifflinburg. He spent his final years attending Grace Bible Church and Catawissa Christian Church while residing in Catawissa before moving to Emmanuel.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Brittany J. Haas, and a brother-in-law, Robert Finlaw.

Survivors include his three children: Kevin Charles Harvey, Bloomsburg; Michele A. (Harvey) Diltz and husband, Stephen, Bloomsburg; Jill S. (Harvey) Haas and husband, Jim, Catawissa; six grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; three siblings: Jeanette (Harvey) Finlaw, New Jersey; Gahrad Harvey and wife, Mary Lou, Shickshinny; Mahlon Harvey and wife, Cecelia, New Jersey.

At the request of Charles, no service will be held. A private family gathering will take place.
