Charles D. Morgan
Charles D. Morgan, age 80, formerly of E. Tenth Street, Bloomsburg, died at 2:20 p. m. Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at the Orangeville Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Orangeville, where he resided since July, 2009.
Born on October 16, 1934 in Mahoning Township, Montour County, he was the son of the late Otis S and Ruth E. (Fry) Morgan.
Charles was a lifelong resident of Columbia County and a 1952 graduate of Bloomsburg High School. He was employed by the former Textron Industries plant in Danville for 35 years and was a supervisor when he retired in the late 1990's
He was a lifelong member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Grovania and was a peacetime member of service with the US Army. He was a former member of the Bloomsburg Elks Lodge 436.
Charles is survived by his son, Jeffrey C. Morgan, and his wife Jeanne, Johns Creek, Ga.; three grandchildren: Joshua, Andrew and Elizabeth; two sisters: Phyllis Y. Harper, Langhorne and Dawn E. Hornberger, Berwick; a niece, Diane Evans, Berwick; and a nephew, Mark Hornberger, Trevose.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday at 1:30 p. m. in St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Grovania, with the Rev. Melody Sell, interim pastor of the church officiating. Interment in the church cemetery.
Viewing will be held on Saturday from 6-8 p. m. at the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market Street, Bloomsburg and at the church on Sunday from 12:30 until the time of the service.
