Charles L. "Smoke" Sevison, age 80, 271 Zackery Road, Stillwater, died at 5:30 p. m. Friday, July 6, 2018 at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, where he was admitted Thursday. He had been in failing health for many years.
Born in Locust Township, Columbia County, on May 13, 1938, he was a son of the late Daniel and Elsie (Litwhiler) Sevison. He resided in Huntington Township, Luzerne County since 1975 and had previously lived in Lightstreet. He was a 1956 graduate of the former Locust Township High School
Smoke was last employed at the former Bloomsburg R. V. dealership as a salesman. Earlier he was employed at a number of businesses, including Valley Chevrolet, Wilkes-Barre; Sears Roebuck & Co.; the former Reichart Lumber yard in Lightstreet; James Vance and also the former Lawton Trucking Co., Bloomsburg.
He was a member of the Town Hill United Methodist Church.
Smoke was a fan of the Philadelphia Phillies, the Philadelphia Eagles and NASCAR. He enjoyed building model airplanes and ships.
He was a peacetime veteran of service in the U.S. Navy.
Surviving are his wife, the former E. Joan Bonham, with whom he observed his 59th wedding anniversary on May 18, 2018; a son, Steven J. Sevison, and his wife Joanne, Oswego, N.Y.; a daughter, Karen R. Sevison, and her companion of 32 Years, Terry Troy, Millville; a granddaughter, Toni C. Sevison, Oswego, N.Y.; a step grandson, Michael Pauldine, Saratoga, N.Y.; two brothers: Paul Sevison, and his wife Lorraine, and Earl Sevison, and his wife Kay, all of Catawissa; two sisters: Rebecca, wife of Gary Hess, Benton and Nancy Raup, Catawissa; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 2 p. m. in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Benton, with his pastor, the Rev. Bethany P. Wood officiating. Interment will follow in Scott Cemetery, Waterton. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 12 - 2 p. m.,
