CHARLES F. VANDERHOOF
Charles F. Vanderhoof, age 87 of 330 West Third St., Bloomsburg, died at 11:25 p.m. Friday June 29, 2012, at the Bloomsburg Hospital under the care of Columbia-Montour Hospice where he had been a patient for 5 days.
Born May 3, 1925 in Chester, NJ he was the son of the late Charles A. and Martha E. (Reynolds) Vanderhoof. He resided in Bloomsburg since 1997 and formerly lived in Elizabeth, NJ for most of his life. Charles was employed as a Licensed Practical Nurse at Alexion Brothers Hospital, Elizabeth, NJ for many years until his retirement in 1990.
He served with the U.S. Army during WW II and was a member of the Bloomsburg Elks Lodge #436.
Surviving is a niece Martha J. Dilg, Bloomsburg and two nephews Jerome Dougherty, Lincoln Park, NJ and Robert Dougherty, Nicholson, PA.
Funeral services are private and will be held at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Dean W. Kriner Inc. Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg.
