Charles B. “Chip” Yost, II, age 72, of Market Street, Bloomsburg died peacefully at his home on Friday morning, July 1, 2022 after an illness.
Born in Bloomsburg on March 6, 1950, he was a son of the late Charles S., M.D. and Patricia E. (Jones) Yost. He was a lifelong resident of Bloomsburg and a 1968 graduate of the Mercersburg Academy. He continued his education at Lafayette College in Easton, graduating in 1972.
Chip was a lifelong member of the First Presbyterian Church of Bloomsburg. He was an avid reader and student of American and European history. He was very knowledgeable about stamps and coins and also butterfly’s. An excellent bridge player, he also was a lover of classical music.
Chip was also an animal lover and cared for the many pets the family had over the years as well as strays his mother adopted or found refuge on the family property.
Surviving are four siblings: Timothy C. Yost, who resided with him; Ann Y. McHugo, Bloomsburg; Robin E. Yost and her companion Randy Bond, Bloomsburg; Fred Y. Yost and his wife Lee, Lime Ridge; two nieces: Alison C. Yost, wife of Matt Rajtut and their son Sawyer; Megan wife of Seth Morrison and their children Shannon and Dylan, four nephews: Ryan McHugo and his partner Shawn Clavelle and their children Charlotte, Adaline and Lucas; Neil Yost and his wife Sara and their children Will, Leah and Claire; Evan Yost and his wife Stacey and their children Emily and Alex; and Harry Yost.
Funeral services will be held at a later date to be determined by the family.
