Christopher Shane Gilbert

Christopher Shane Gilbert, age 53, of Mansfield, passed away on Tuesday, May 10th, 2022 at Geisinger Medical Center where he spent 34 days prior receiving care after suffering a severe stroke. Chris was surrounded by family for the duration of his illness.

Born at Fort Riley Army Hospital in Kansas on September 5, 1968, Chris was the son of Sandra (Collum) Gilbert and the late Ron Gilbert, of Millerton. He was a 1987 graduate of Williamson High School and later received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Elmira College. While Chris enjoyed many career paths since beginning work as a teenager, and at the time of his death, he worked at Re/Max First of Mansfield. 

Chris was predeceased by his father, Ron Gilbert. He is survived by his mother, Sandra Gilbert; nephews, Alex and Brandon Gilbert; nieces, Charly, Ryann, and Kamryn Slusser; siblings, Steve (Kathy) Gilbert and Kim (Dave) Slusser; and brother in Christ, Chuck Newman.  

Chris requested there be no ceremony or services and to give all honor, glory, and praise to his Lord, Master and Savior Christ Jesus. In lieu of flowers, please make donations or volunteer your time with the local food pantries.
