Claire E. Ammerman, age 83, 100 Wall St., Danville, died at 2 p. m. Sunday, August 9, 2009 at the Bloomsburg Health Care Center where she was a patient since October, 2008.
Born on February 16, 1926 in Mt. Carmel, she was a daughter of the late William and Alice (Cole) Cripps.
She was a 1944 graduate of Mt. Carmel High School and resided in Danville since 1947.
Claire was a member of St. Paul's Emmanuel United Methodist Church, Danville. She also belonged to the Danville VFW Auxiliary and the Danville American Legion Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by a son, Harold W. Ammerman, Jr., on March 31, 2009 and by a sister, Jean Burke.
Surviving are her husband, Harold W. Ammerman, Sr., with whom she celebrated her 61st wedding anniversary on September 20, 2008; a son, John H. Ammerman, and his wife Cindy, Danville; a daughter, Alice H. Karlovich, and her fiance Rick Temple, Catawissa; five grandchildren: Brian Ammerman, Stacy Gallagher, Todd Ammerman, Teia Engle, Josh Karlovich; three great-grandchildren: Corey Gallagher, Morgan Gallagher, Cameron Engle; and a brother, William Cripps.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11 a. m. in the Roat-Kriner Funeral Home, 1715 Bloom Road, Danville, with her pastor, Rev. Gregory L. Molter officiating. Interment in Fairview Cemetery, Danville. Friends may call on Wednesday from 10-11 a. m.
The family will provide flowers. Memorials may be sent to the Life Geisinger Program, 1100 Spruce St., Kulpmont, PA 17834.
