CLARA ELIZABETH GROSS
Lifes greatest joys were her grandsons and family
Clara Elizabeth Gross, age 82, 2 Klingerville Lane, Bloomsburg, died at her home with her family by her side early Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2012 after having been in failing health for six months.
Born in Hemlock Township on Feb. 7, 1929, she was a daughter of the late John E. and Mildred (Carpenter) Klinger. She was a lifelong resident of Hemlock Township.
Clara was employed in the laundry of Danville State Hospital for 21 years, retiring in March, 1991. Previously she was employed by the former Magee Carpet Co.
She was a member of the Buckhorn United Methodist Church. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting and canning food from her garden
Surviving are her husband, Joseph Gross, Jr., with whom she celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary on October 28, 2011; a daughter, Mildred Ann, wife of Michael Edwards, Orlando, Fla.,; a son, Joseph Robert Gross, and his wife Elaine, Bloomsburg; three grandsons: Michael Joseph Edwards, Joshua Joseph Gross and Jeremy John Gross; six siblings: twins, Herschel H. Klinger, and his wife Marlene and O. Frederick Klinger, and his wife Sue; Nancy Webb; Betty Jean , wife of Gerald Swisher, all of Bloomsburg; Shirley Ann, wife of Ralph McAllister, Elizabethville; and Robert L. Klinger, and his wife Gaylene, Bloomsburg. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Sat. at 11 a. m. in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg, with her pastor, Audrey M. Brosious officiating. Interment in Straub's Cemetery, Frosty Valley. There will be no viewing. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.
