Clayton A. "Shorty" Lechleitner
Clayton A. "Shorty" Lechleitner, age 86, 33 Holmes Road, Stillwater (Register) died at 12:57 p. m. Monday, January 7, 2013 in the emergency room of the Geisinger-Bloomsburg Hospital.
Born in Huntington Township, Luzerne County, on June 18, 1926, he was a son of the late Oliver and Sarah (Davis) Lechleitner. His entire life was spent in Huntington Township except for the time he spent in the U. S. Army during World War II.
Shorty was employed last by the former 6-L's Farms where he worked for 13 years. Earlier he was employed by Penn Dot; Champion Valley; PA State Park Service; PA Fish Commission; Benton Foundry and Koon Construction.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Justin Lechleitner in 1979; by five brothers: Albert E., James O., Leo, John H. and Glenn R. Lechleitner and by three sisters: Edith Ross, Margaret H. Cain and Ramona Bonham.
Shorty is survived by his wife, the former Pearl E. Williams, with whom he celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on February 20, 2012; three sons: Edward N. Lechleitner, and his wife Janice, Berwick; Larry M. Lechleitner, and his wife Cindy, Tunkhannock; Randy A. Lechleitner, and his wife Kim, Stillwater (Register); seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Robert W. Lechleitner, and his wife Grace, Huntington Mills.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours.
